DOCUMENTATION

Midnight Mass is a ritual performance work by Lapin Rex, a collaboration between musician Miranda Magdalena and performance artist Selma Kjellsson, created in dialogue with sculptor Liza Shakirando.

The work revolves around the ancient myth of being brought back to life from the dead. Tin soldiers are melted down, and the liquid metal is poured into water as a form of divination, revealing a shared fate. Through music, action, and material transformation, the work brings together religion, ritual, magic, and science fiction in an otherworldly ceremony populated by witches, omens, and displaced layers of time.
