Selma Kjesen (she/her) is an artist and performer based in Malmö, Sweden working with immersive performance installation and interactive systems. She constructs spatial and social frameworks in which audiences enter operative environments governed by their own logic. Roles, behaviors and hierarchies are produced and negotiated within these systems, often shaped by broken dreams and collective fantasies.

Several projects approach the present as something already lost, rendered nostalgic. Her practice is driven by a desire to imagine new ways of being together, while attending to the fragility and complexity of human existence. Often situated at the margins of society, her work investigates intimacy and belonging within a rapidly changing world.
